Bday @ the Movies

January 16th, 2007 at 07:33 pm

My 8 year old wants to take 3 friends to the movies for his birthday! Yay! So much simpler and inexpensive than a party at home or at a 'destination'.

We can take 3 plus my one in the car. Let them knock em selves out with Eragon and the ice cream parlor. (I might even sneak some candy in my purse instead of buying popcorn at the movies).

Maybe my 6 year old will also want the same kind of party. Any idea what movie I can plan to take little kids in about a month?

I don't which movie, but try to make it a matinee movie which is usually much cheaper than an evening one!

Believe it or not, Happy Feet is rated PG. Ugh, I don't want my 6 yo to see more attitude (she already has enough!).

Anyone seen Charlotte's Web (rated G)? Parent review movie sites are giving it good ratings.

Last year for my son and his best friend's b-days we( the other mom and I) took 6 boys to Subway for lunch, movies downtown and cake and ice cream at a house after. It was fun, but also something i will never do again. People on the streets gave as a combination of sympathic looks, shakes of heads and then some laugh ("better you than me" laughs). But yes it was less money and it was easy and the boys had a blast.

And Charlotte's web is a very good choice, but then so is Happy Feet ( for the boys!). another good flick for the boys is Night at the Museum.
